ONE announced the levy of a congestion surcharge of US$1,000 per cold box arriving at Yantian Port

In order to minimize the loss and inconvenience, when the operation is feasible, ONE strives to arrange subsequent transportation from the alternative unloading port to the original destination based on the availability of refrigerated plugs.

In order not to complicate operation restrictions, and to maintain as safe operations as possible under such circumstances, ONE will encourage customers to consider changing the port of destination to other alternative ports, especially for goods that are sensitive to timeliness, such as fresh and refrigerated goods.

At the same time, ONE decided to impose a congestion surcharge of US$1,000 on each container to cover the extra costs incurred due to unexpected but necessary transportation arrangements and related plug fees and monitoring costs. If it is required to change the port of destination (COD) to unload the inbound reefer from Yantian to other alternative ports, CGD and COD management fees can be exempted.

This measure will take effect immediately on all refrigerated container cargoes arriving at Yantian Port from June 10, 2021. For controlled trade, the effective date will be July 11, 2021, until further notice.
