On January 20th local time, Dapeng suddenly issued an announcement stating that in light of the complex and volatile international situation, the Dapeng Group has decided to temporarily reroute the vessels on the FAL1, FAL3 and MEX routes from the Red Sea - Suez Canal to sail around the Cape of Good Hope.

It is worth noting that the three routes that have been rerouted this time were among the first to return to the Suez Canal last year. Now, these routes have once again "retreated" and are taking the longer Cape of Good Hope route.
In its official statement, CMA CGM cited "complex and uncertain international circumstances" as the reason and stated that it would regularly reevaluate this decision.

Before this, Maersk had already announced its decision to bring the MECL route back to the Suez Canal.
Meanwhile, the "Gemini Cooperation" jointly established by Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd is planning to resume the operation of its ME11 route through the Red Sea and the Suez Canal.
Please note to all shippers and freight forwarders: Recently, many shipping companies have made adjustments to the Red Sea route. Before shipping, please check the latest shipping schedules and freight rates, and make a detailed shipping plan in advance.
